The place where dreams are made, Herzls house
In this work Serlin projects the documentation of her path from her grandmother’s house in the Balkan to Israel, onto a print of a photograph of an abandoned house in Zemun, Belgrade. According to the story this house belonged to Herzl’s grandparents.
By projecting the journey onto the image of the house, Serlin creates the sense of movement and wanderings of the abandoned house, as well as an attempt to breathe new life into it.
